Sneak Peek

I know I've posted works by Andy Kosorok in the past but this time I'm providing a sneak peek at our upcoming exhibit Made in Provo. Andy will have this piece and another in our exhibit. The exhibit will be opening on Friday the 7th of March and will feature works from artists living in our fair city of Provo. We'll have a variety of styles and media so put that date on your calendar and don't forget to come and see the art!.

New Post Finally

I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again, I am not a word person. I know, I know, I can just post images but I feel I should say something about my posting.

More New Studio Images

As I mentioned in my last post, here are a few more images. Nathan Bennett with a new patina painting that will be going to Munson Gallery in Santa Fa. Nathan just makes his work so rich and dimensional you could just walk right into them.


And just to keep me working on my lighting skills here in the studio, Andy Kosorok brings in his glass creations that always make me think once or twice how to best light to show his glass.

New Exhibits

We're excited here at Terra Nova Gallery. The response has been wonderful from the artists for our new Plein Air Provo exhibit! The weather looks to be great (well Friday might not be so good) and the painters are out. They will bring their newly created works of art in and the exhibit will open on Friday the 5th for the Downtown Provo Gallery Stroll. Stop in, cast your vote for the people's choice award and enjoy this wonderful exhibit.

Dahrl Thomson, one of our clients who we shoot for at Hawkinson Photography is also opening a new exhibit this Friday. Dahrl will be exhibiting with Jennifer Rasmussen at the Rose Wagner Art Gallery in Salt lake City. The exhibit will run from October 5th through December 28th, 2007.

The Rose Wagner Art Gallery is at 138 West Broadway (300 South), Salt Lake City and there is an Artist Reception on Sunday October 14th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Dream Dialog

I've been busy shooting in the studio. Two artists that have exhibited at Terra Nova Gallery have an exhibit at the Bountiful Davis Art Center. Anne Gregerson & Marilyn Read open their exhibit Dream Dialogue on September 7th.

Anne Gregerson

Dream Dialogue features work by Anne Gregerson and Marilyn Read. Anne was born and raised in Idaho. She studied art at the Tucson Museum of Art School and Pima College in Arizona. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in sculpture at Brigham Young University in 1997. She taught art in Utah schools for several years, and now works as an artist full time in her home studio. Fired clay is her primary medium and the subject matter is most often the female human figure.

Marilyn Read

Marilyn Read is a native of Ogden, Utah. At age 20 she moved to Hawaii where she immersed herself in a melting pot of diverse cultural influences including India, the Middle East, Africa and Mexico. Her paintings reflect these powerful cultural influences. After returning to Utah she received a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Utah. Since that time she has shown her work in several one-woman exhibits and as an invited artist in shows and in galleries along the Wasatch Front.
